'Fearless' Film Crew in Imperial Beach This Week

A film crew, Angelic Pictures and actors and actresses are in Imperial Beach for the next week to shoot a new movie called Fearless, according to the movie's writer and director Mark Maine.

The cast and crew spent most of the day Monday in Pier Plaza and will film portions of the movie on the beach and at Bibbey's Shell Shop later this week, Maine said.

"I shot at the Imperial Beach Pier 2000 and was looking for another pier to shoot at and we came back here," he said. Executive Producer Charles Jackson, who is from Imperial Beach, was instrumental in bringing the movie to IB, Maine said.

Jackson could not be reached for comment when this story was published.

According to a description of the movie that has already been published on IMDB.com, Fearless is "a teenage beach bathing suit musical-comedy, filled with plenty of gorgeous gals and guys on the beach re-imagined from movies of the past Beach Party (1963), Bikini Beach (1964) and Blue Crush (2002)."
