Gunman Robs Palm Ave. Gas Station, Arrested After Fleeng on Foot

An unidentified suspect walked into the USA Gas station at 1890 Palm Ave. just after 2 a.m. and demanded cash from a clerk

A gunman suspected of robbing an Egger Highlands gas station Saturday morning was in police custody.

The suspect was allegedly armed with handgun when he walked into the USA Gas station at 1890 Palm Ave. just after 2 a.m. and demanded cash from a clerk before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed sum, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

He was last seen on foot, heading west on Palm Avenue, Stafford said.

An officer later located him at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Saturn Boulevard and arrested him, Stafford said.

The man, whose name was withheld, was booked on suspicion of robbery, he said.

It was unclear whether a gun was recovered.
