Mar Vista High School beat Southwest High School Friday 55-29 in a game at Southwest to determine who brings home The Bell.
The Bell game rivalry between the crosstown rivals was started by coaches from both teams in the 1980s.
A crushing rushing offense carried the Mariners to the win.
Jimmie Hill led the team with 18 carries for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 17.72 yards a carry in the game, according to MaxPreps.com.
Hill has the second most rushing yards of any player in San Diego County this season, second only to Royce Freeman, who on Friday broke the record for the most career rushing yards in CIF San Diego section history.
Hill was followed in offensive production Friday by Brian Scales who carried the ball 7 times and scored 4 rushing touchdowns.
The win brings the Mariners to a 3-5 record and continued the Raiders slide into a winless season.
Mar Vista still have a chance to finish the season with a .500 record if the Mariners manage to beat San Ysidro and Hilltop high schools in the final games of the season.
