A fast-moving brush fire that swept across brushy open terrain in a remote section of southwestern San Diego County -- charring roughly 100 acres -- was fully contained Thursday, according to Cal Fire.
The noninjury blaze erupted about a mile east of the terminus of state Route 905 and a few miles outside Imperial Beach in Otay Mesa shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, the state firefighting agency reported.
Cal fire crews fought wind-driven flames on the ground and with water-dropping air tankers and helicopter.The cause of the fire was under investigation.
