• Large bird escapes Living Desert, found days later in Indian Wells (vcstar.com) — A runaway Southern ground hornbill from The Living Desert was finally recaptured Monday at The Reserve Club and The Vintage Club in the Indian Wells foothills, days after residents first spotted it. Zoo staff say the bird, named Pili, appears healthy, is under veterinary evaluation, and they’re reviewing procedures to prevent future escapes.
