Board clears way for interchange improvement project in Indio (kesq.com) — A major Interstate 10 interchange upgrade at Monroe Street in Indio is moving forward after county supervisors approved the project, which aims to ease congestion into and out of the city. Indio and the Coachella Valley Association of Governments will fund the work, which includes new lanes and ramp reconstruction once remaining property easements are secured and a construction timeline is set. 
2. Man killed in shooting in Indio Tuesday afternoon (kesq.com) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in an Indio neighborhood after a man was found with gunshot wounds Tuesday afternoon and later died at the hospital. The incident, reported around 1:20 p.m. on Dove Street near Calhoun, has left nearby roads closed while officers work two connected crime scenes and ask residents with information to contact 911.
3. Deliberations begin in trial of felon accused of trying to kill deputy in Coachella (kesq.com) — Jury deliberations are underway at the Indio courthouse in the trial of a man accused of shooting a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy after a 2017 chase in Coachella. Jurors began considering multiple felony charges, including attempted murder of a peace officer, and are set to resume deliberations after a full first day without a verdict.
4. Coachella Valley Repertory Announces Three Plays Selected for Staged Readings (mynewsla.com) — Indio theater lovers are included in Coachella Valley Repertory’s new Origins-New Works Program, which is bringing four fresh plays to staged readings this season in Cathedral City. Three titles and dates are already set, with free but reservation-only readings and one work eventually receiving a full world premiere at CVRep next year.
