Laguna Beach Baby Dies Suddenly, Community Rallies Support

The Kollock family lost their daughter Catalina Raine at just five weeks old.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA -- A fundraiser was launched this month for a Laguna Beach family who lost their newborn child after just five weeks. The Kollock family reportedly lost their baby girl, Catalina Raine, on Dec. 16, according to a GoFundMe page launched for the family.

The GoFundMe page, which hopes to raise $100,000 to support the family, said Catalina "did not wake up and could not be revived" earlier in the month.

"The family is shocked, stunned and devastated. Ryan, who is a fitness trainer in Laguna Beach supports their whole family, as Teresa stays home with their 4 older children. If he doesn’t work, bills don’t get paid," the webpage said. "There is no family medical leave, paid time off or disability."

The GoFundMe, which raised $78,000 as of Dec. 31, said the donations will go toward funeral expenses and allow for the patriarch to take time off from work to grieve for his lost daughter.

"If you can’t donate, please send love, prayers and healing energy to Ryan, Teresa, Jackson, Layla, Stella and Scarlett as the deeply mourn the loss of their beautiful baby Catalina Raine," the webpage said.
