According to the Laguna Beach Fire Department, residents can expect intermittent periods of heavy rain and potential flooding in low-lying areas, especially near the coast. Downtown Laguna Beach business owners and residents were urged to install their floodgates before Tuesday night as a precautionary measure to protect against the rains. Laguna Beach residents can pick up empty sandbags at all four Laguna Beach fire stations, or 10 pre-filled sandbags at 1900 Laguna Canyon Road and 31132 S. Coast Highway. Residents can also receive city-wide emergency alerts by texting 92651 to 888-777.
