Laguna Beach To Host Special Screening Of Indie Film 'From Embers'
Following the screening, audience members will have an opportunity to participate in a Q&A with the movie's creative team.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach is hosting a special screening of independent drama "From Embers" next, which will feature a post-film Q&A with the movie’s creative team and cast, including local director and writer Kate Bohan.
The screening will be held at Rivian Laguna, 162 South Coast Highway, on Saturday, Jan. 10.
The film centers on Lily, a newly single mother navigating the sudden loss of her husband while caring for her 9-year-old autistic son.

As she struggles to rebuild her life, Lily forms an unexpected bond with Marty Baker, an alcoholic painter and music lover trying to secure a better future for his 13-year-old daughter. The story explores grief, recovery and the fragile connections that form in the aftermath of loss.
Following the screening, audience members will have an opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session with several members of the production, including Bohan; actress Kayla Bohan; producer Kathleen Lee; actor Christopher Shyer; actress Aria Pullman; and composer Pancho Burgos.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the film scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The Q&A is expected to start around 8:40 p.m.
Organizers note that "From Embers" is not recommended for audiences ages 13 and under. RSVPs are encouraged for those planning to attend.
