Laguna Beach's Historic La Casa Del Camino Gets Rebrand, New Menu
A 93-year-old hotel in the heart of Laguna Beach has undergone a seasonal rebrand of its Comedor restaurant for the summer. What to know.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A historic Laguna Beach staple just received a summer makeover.
The town's historic La Casa del Camino hotel has reimagined its Comedor restaurant for the summer, including a complete rebrand of the decor and the menu.
The hotel itself is one of Laguna Beach's most historic buildings and is by far among the most unique. Upstairs at La Casa del Camino is The Rooftop Lounge, a local favorite restaurant with the best panoramic ocean views in Orange County and a mix of California coastal and homestyle Chinese cuisines. At the same time, downstairs, you'll find Comedor.

The new menu offers coastal inspired appetizers, salads and entrees such as the Plancha Roasted Fresh Catch, which includes Alaskan potatoes, yellow squash, peas, asparagus, tamarind blood orange vinaigrette. Another entree includes the Duck Carnitas Tostada, with cabbage salad, smashed avocado, refried chorizo beans and salsa crudo verde.
"Comedor’s refreshed menu now brings a taste of Laguna Beach to La Casa del Camino’s visitors by offering locally-sourced ingredients and freshly-caught fish,” said Chef Glen Tinsley. “The restaurant serves as the focal point for those looking to gather over great food, handcrafted cocktails, and a coastal California dining experience.”
The new cocktail menu includes the Vodka Vesper, with citrus oil, fennel liqueur, and grapefruit white sage tincture; and the Dandy Martini with Italian gin, extra dry vermouth, house brine, thyme tincture.
The new indoor design has transformed the original space into a cozy yet upscale beach-inspired lounge. Guests can also look forward to live entertainment throughout the weekend including local musicians and DJs.
Once a popular retreat for Hollywood celebrities and film stars in the 1920s, the boutique hotel is unlike anything else in Southern California.
"La Casa del Camino is the perfect staycation destination for Southern California travelers who are itching to get out of their homes and spend some time beachside this year," a spokesperson for the hotel told Patch.
Located steps away from Cress St. Beach, La Casa del Camino offers a variety of accommodations, including 10 uniquely designed suites that reflect the surf culture of Laguna Beach, Spanish-style rooms with antique hand-carved furnishings, and the Casita Cottage — a private beach house featuring a private deck and full kitchen — providing options perfect for couples on a romantic getaway or families on vacation.
