DANA POINT, CA — Nine people were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol last week at Dana Point Harbor, authorities confirmed.
The Maritime Coordination Center notified border patrol around 4:10 p.m. Thursday of a possible smuggling in progress, and agents from the San Clemente station responded and arrested nine Mexican nationals, including an unaccompanied child, authorities said.
Other people were reported to have left before agents arrived, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which seized the vessel on which the people arrived.
