Burned Body Not That of Missing Laguna Niguel Teen

As the search for Bryce Laspisa continues, police have confirmed

A burned corpse found near the abandoned vehicle of a Laguna Niguel teen is not the young man's body, according to his family.

Bryce Laspisa, 19, has been missing since Aug. 30 when his SUV was found abandoned at Castaic Lake.

His family announced from the Find Bryce Laspisa Facebook page that the body found burned days later is not Laspisa's. The announcement came around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.

The search for Laspisa continued today. On Tuesday, someone fitting his description was spotted at The Habit restaurant in Valencia. The person seemed confused and asked for water, Bryce's mother Karen Laspisa said.

Meanwhile rescuers continue to search by land, air and water near Castaic Lake for signs of the missing 19-year-old.

The vehicle of Bryce Laspisa's father was broken into Tuesday. Police arrested two suspects and a local company replaced his broken window free of charge.

Other local businesses have chipped in with free coffee, wifi, fliers and other amenities to aid rescuers.
