Hoag Hospital Awarded Iconic 'Ziggurat' Building In Laguna Niguel

The facility was originally going to be awarded to Pintar Investment Co. and Hilco Development Service, the OC Business Journal reported.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — The Chet Holifield Federal Building in Laguna Niguel — often called the "Ziggurat" building — is coming under new ownership.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian has been awarded ownership of the 92-acre facility, wrenching it away from San Juan Capistrano-based Pintar Investment Co. and Signal Hill-based Hilco Development Services, according to the Orange County Business Journal.

According to the report, representatives with Hilco vowed Wednesday to fight the decision made by the U.S. General Services Administration.
