Laguna Niguel Woman Sentenced In Boyfriend's Fatal Stabbing
The woman faced murder charges after stabbing her live-in boyfriend during an argument seven years before.
LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — A 58-year-old Laguna Niguel woman reported to jail Monday to serve one year behind bars for fatally stabbing her live-in boyfriend seven years ago.
Michele Lynn Green pleaded guilty April 5 to one felony count of voluntary manslaughter.
Green had been facing charges of murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon.
Green fatally stabbed 52-year-old Richard Begley Feb. 21, 2015, following a "domestic dispute." at 24805 La Vida Drive. Begley died from a single stab wound to his stomach and was found by police on the front lawn of his house, according to authorities.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Gregg Prickett on Friday sentenced her to six years in prison, but he suspended the punishment and instead sentenced her to 364 days in jail and serve five years of formal probation, according to court records. Prickett gave Green until Monday to report to jail.
Her requests for home confinement or electronic monitoring were denied.
