DANA POINT, CA — A group of boat owners will be allowed to pursue a lawsuit seeking to prevent the implementation of rent increases for marina slips at the Dana Point Harbor, the Orange County Register reported.

In a lawsuit filed in October, the Dana Point Boater Association claims the increases will see owners pay between 26 to 96 percent more for their marina slips.

Dana Point Harbor Partners, which was granted a 66-year lease of the harbor by Orange County officials in 2018, is in the midst of a $400 million remodel of the waterfront, the Register reported. Part of the remodel included raising the rent on marina slips in September.
