Man Who Tried To Meet 13-Year-Old For Sex Charged, Police Say

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — A 44-year-old man was behind bars Wednesday after he was charged with attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex in south Orange County.

Damian Hernandez-Guzman was charged with contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sex offense, meeting a minor to commit lewd conduct, distributing pornography to a minor with the intent to engage in sexual conduct and attempted lewd act on a child younger than 14, all felonies, court records show.

Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies were dispatched Friday to the 900 block of South El Camino Real in San Clemente after an informant tipped them off about the reported meeting.

The defendant did not enter a plea at his Wednesday arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. He is scheduled to be arraigned March 5.
