Mudslide Shuts Down Train Tracks Near South OC Pier
Orange County authorities responded to the mudslide with three K9 teams to make sure no one was injured.
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — A mudslide shut down train service in Orange County Monday morning, prompting authorities to issue three K9 teams to make sure no one was hurt.
The mudslide was announced by Metrolink at 6:12 a.m. Monday, stating that the tracks were closed between the San Clemente Pier and Oceanside.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded to the site, the San Clemente Beach Trail south of the San Clemente Pier, to investigate the mudslide.

"Personnel assessed the scene and determined there was no damage to, nor danger posed to, homes located on the cliff above the trail," an OCFA spokesperson told KTLA. "While there were no reports of anyone trapped, OCFA deployed two Urban Search & Rescue K9 teams as a precaution to ensure no victims were involved."
