Woman Struck By Piece Of Cliff At Torrey Pines Beach
Medic dropped in from helicopter to attend to injured woman.
LA JOLLA, CA — A woman walking with her friends on Torrey Pines State Beach just south of Flat Rock was struck by a piece of cliff that fell on her, according to Monica Munoz at the San Diego Fire Department.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews received a call about 12:30 p.m. Thursday and sent in trucks and the Fire-Rescue helicopter. The medic on board the helicopter was dropped down to the beach to attend to the woman, according to Munoz. Firefighters then worked on the woman and packaged her up for transport to Scripps La Jolla.
Her two friends were not injured, nor was anyone else.
