La Jolla Shores Beach Among Top 10 Beaches In California: Ranking
There are more than 400 beaches scattered along California's 840 miles of coastline.
LA JOLLA, CA — Three beaches in San Diego County — including La Jolla Shores Beach — are among the top 10 beaches in California, according to a new ranking from USA Today.
The publication's expert panel compiled a list of the best beaches in the Golden State, and then readers voted for their favorites. There are more than 400 beaches scattered along California's 840 miles of coastline.
Harbor Beach in Oceanside ranked third, while Coronado Beach ranked fifth and La Jolla Shores Beach ranked eighth.

"Known for its picturesque mile-long stretch of sand that sets the scene for relaxation and plenty of activities, La Jolla Shores Beach is a highlight of the San Diego area," the publication wrote. "It's a paradise for surfers, swimmers, and sunbathers, offering an array of things to do, including snorkeling and kayaking. With its soft sands, gentle waves, and vibrant marine life, it's no wonder this beach is a beloved destination for locals and tourists."
