Red, White and Blue Turkey Racing in Time for July 4th

Turkeys race for the grain as Nancy and Gil Riegler entertain crowds at San Diego County Fair.

You think turkeys can’t race? It might be like herding cats?

Think again.

Apparently, all that’s needed is a remote-control truck with a bed full of grain.

By the way, the “red” and “blue” teams of turkeys have food coloring on their feathers, which Nancy Riegler joked “is rather ironic.”

The Rieglers take their Turkey Stampede on the road to fairs all over California.

The duo own a camel dairy in the Witch Creek area of Ramona and offer tours of the dairy once a month. Children can get rides on the dromedary camels. There's also a bird show.

Oasis Camel Dairy is reported to be the only camel dairy in the U.S.
