• NID receives $615,000 CAL FIRE grant to protect critical water infrastructure from wildfire (yubanet.com) — Lake Wildwood’s water supply is among those protected by a new $615,000 CAL FIRE grant to the Nevada Irrigation District for wildfire defenses along the South Yuba Canal. Crews will thin trees and create shaded fuel breaks near Bear Valley to safeguard the wooden flume that delivers water and supports power generation and treatment for Lake Wildwood and other western Nevada County communities.
