1 Killed, Another Injured In Wildomar Shooting

One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Wildomar Friday night.

WILDOMAR, CA — A 64-year-old man was killed and a 56-year-old woman was injured during a shooting in Wildomar, and the suspect was later arrested, authorities said Saturday.

Deputies responded to the 24000 block of Orange Street around 7:20 p.m. Friday to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Upon arrival, they found Jesus Monge and an unidentified woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Monge was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was rushed to a hospital, where she was listed with stable vital signs, according to the sheriff's department.

The suspect was identified as 33-year-old David Jimenez of Wildomar. Jimenez was later arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
