5 Arrested, 19 Vehicles Towed in DUI Crackdown

Riverside County Sheriff's deputies conducted a driver's license/sobriety checkpoint overnight in Perris.

Five motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and 19 vehicles were towed during an overnight driver's license/sobriety checkpoint in Perris, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said Sunday.

Also, six motorists were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license. The checkpoint on North Perris Boulevard and Commerce Drive began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended Sunday at 2 a.m., according to the department.

Twenty-one motorists were arrested or cited for driving unlicensed and five misdemeanor warrants were served, according to authorities.
