Duplex Attic Fire Displaces 6 People, 2 Children Overnight In Norco

The building was red-tagged by the city of Norco, and Red Cross is assisting the four adults and two kids suddenly with no place to live.

NORCO, CA — A fire that erupted Wednesday in the attic of a Norco duplex home caused major damage, displacing the six occupants, two of whom were children.

The blaze was reported about 5 p.m. in the 1300 block of Detroit Street, near Valley View Avenue, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames along the attic and roof of the 1,500-square-foot single-story house.

All of the occupants evacuated the residence prior to the firefighters' arrival.

The fire spread to other parts of the house before crews contained it shortly before 6 p.m.
Four adults and two children were displaced by the fire, according to officials at the scene.
