'CHiPs For Kids' Returns To Lake Elsinore To Help Those In Need
Local California Highway Patrol officers are helping to collect toys for those who may not otherwise get gifts this holiday season.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The Temecula Area CHP office is again taking part in the annual "CHiPs for Kids" toy drive, and is encouraging the community to drop off new, unwrapped toys for those in need this holiday season.
Started more than two decades ago in Los Angeles, now nearly every California Highway Patrol office in the state takes part in the drive.
"The Temecula CHP area has successfully participated in this program for the last decade," CHP Officer Mike Lassig said in a news release. "With the help of compassionate supporters in the communities we serve, our Area squad has been able to distribute toys to hundreds of less fortunate children in Southwest Riverside County."
