Coroner ID's I-60 Crash Victims As Riverside County Residents

A man and a woman were killed Monday when their vehicle ran off the busy freeway and into a business parking lot.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A Hemet woman and her passenger from San Jacinto were identified one day after they were killed in a dramatic crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway, the car careening down an embankment into a parking lot.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau and California Highway Patrol named Jillian Reynoso, 41, of Hemet and Christopher Stainbrook, 40, of Jurupa Valley were fatally injured just before 5 a.m. Monday on the eastbound 60 at Country Village Road.

Officer Javier Navarro said Reynoso was at the wheel of a sedan traveling at an unconfirmed speed when it veered into the divider, ricocheting off the concrete barrier and causing Stainbrook to be ejected into eastbound lanes.

The car continued across all lanes and went down a shallow embankment before sliding into a business parking lot at 3810 Wabash Drive, where it collided with a parked box truck, which was unoccupied, Navarro said.

No other vehicles were involved.

All eastbound lanes were shut down for roughly two hours while a preliminary investigation was conducted.

Autopsies were pending on both victims Tuesday. It's unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
