Fugitives Wanted In RivCo Domestic Violence Cases Found In Mexico
Both men, who were wanted in unrelated cases, were extradited from Mexico City.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Two fugitives wanted in unrelated Riverside County domestic violence cases that span back years were recently found in Mexico, the Riverside County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
Lorenzo Castellanos, 72, was tracked down by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Mexican Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with murder and child endangerment connected to a January 2001 fatal stabbing of his partner in Rubidoux. The unnamed victim, who was slashed numerous times, was the mother of his child, according to the D.A.'s office.
Castellanos, a Mexican citizen, was being held at Riverside's Robert Presley Detention Center on $1 million bail.

Jose Barron was nabbed after the D.A.’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit worked with the Office of International Affairs on a foreign extradition warrant for the 56-year-old Mexican citizen. He is charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and aggravated mayhem for a Sept. 9, 2014, machete attack on an unnamed victim, according to the D.A.'s office.
Jail records show Barron was being held at Murrieta's Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $1 million bail.

It's unclear what parts of Mexico Castellanos and Barron were found or how investigators tracked them down, but both were brought back to the United States via Mexico City, according to the D.A.'s office.
