Hit-And-Run Crash Leaves Bicyclist Seriously Injured In RivCo, Arrest Made
The bicyclist was hospitalized and remains in stable condition, the sheriff's department said Tuesday afternoon.

PERRIS, CA — A driver who allegedly hit a bicyclist in Perris, then fled the scene, leaving the rider with serious injuries, has been arrested, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday afternoon.
Kenneth Orlando Juarez Vega, 41, of Perris was taken into custody Monday on Momento Avenue in Perris, according to jail records. He was booked into Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of hit-and-run with injuries and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Juarez Vega was released from custody the same day on $75,000 bail, according to the records.

Juarez Vega was allegedly driving a Honda Pilot southbound on Perris Boulevard just before noon Sunday. When he got to the 1600 block of Perris Boulevard, he allegedly crashed into the rear of the bicycle.
The impact caused the bicyclist, who was also heading south on Perris Boulevard, to crash. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the rider in the roadway's center median "suffering from serious injuries," according to the sheriff's department.

The bicyclist was hospitalized and remains in stable condition, the sheriff's department reported.
"Alcohol was determined to be a factor in this collision," according to the law enforcement agency.
