Injured Paraglider Hoisted From Remote RivCo Hillside

Rescue crews gained access to the paraglider via utility task vehicles but later requested a hoist-assist helicopter to retrieve the victim.

SAN JACINTO, CA — Firefighters rescued a seriously injured paraglider Sunday morning after they plummeted onto a San Jacinto hillside, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to the area of Soboba Road, east of State Street, around 9 a.m., where the paraglider had crashed, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Rescue crews gained access to the paraglider via utility task vehicles but later requested a hoist-assist helicopter to help the injured victim from the remote area.

The paraglider was subsequently hoisted to an awaiting air ambulance and was rushed to a trauma center. No other information was immediately available.
