LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The Nichols Fire burning in Lake Elsinore Monday afternoon had scorched 50 acres with 75% containment as of 7 p.m.

The fire's perimeter as shown on a Cal Fire map.

No evacuations were issued for the blaze, but part of northbound Interstate 15 was closed.
