Lake Elsinore Man Gets 5 Years After Repeated Sexual Assault
A 25-year-old man who repeatedly sexually assaulted a Lake Elsinore girl was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 25-year-old man who repeatedly sexually assaulted a Lake Elsinore girl was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison.
In October, Kole Scully Mims of Menifee admitted two counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old in a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. In exchange for his admissions, prosecutors dropped four related charges against Mims.
During a hearing Friday at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, Superior Court Judge Stephen Gallon certified the terms of the plea deal and imposed the sentence stipulated by the prosecution and defense.

According to Sgt. Jeff Reese of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, deputies were alerted in July 2023 to the molestation of a youth, identified in court documents only as "M.A.," in Lake Elsinore.
The investigation uncovered that Mims had assaulted the victim multiple times, Reese said.

Court records show the first assault occurred in early June 2022, and the last one occurred at the end of November of that year.
The circumstances behind the offenses and the defendant's relationship to the girl, if any, were not disclosed.
An arrest warrant was served on Mims in Riverside, where he was taken into custody without incident in August 2023.
He had no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.
