Lake Elsinore Man Killed In Vegas Road Rage Incident

Police say the man was on his way to Las Vegas to celebrate his birthday when he was gunned down and killed.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A Lake Elsinore man has been identified as the victim of a high-profile Las Vegas homicide. The resident was killed earlier this month in an incident described as a "road rage murder."

According to a report by the Las Vegas Review Journal, 58-year-old Jeffrey Boyajian died in the Aug. 5 shooting.

Police say Boyajian was on his way to Vegas to celebrate his birthday. They are now asking for anyone who may have dashboard cameras installed on their vehicles, and who may have been on the stretch of roadway where the shooting occurred — the northbound I-15 between Silverado Ranch and Blue Diamond Road — around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 to check their footage.

Boyajian was shot as he was on Interstate 15 when a person pulled up next to him and "fired multiple rounds" into his Chrysler, according to police.

"After the shooting, the suspect vehicle continued driving north on the I-15 and fled the area prior to police arrival," police said in a news release.

The Elsinore man was rushed to the local trauma center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His family has since set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.

To date, no suspects have been identified. Police say the person or people responsible for the shooting were driving a "white older model van."
