Lake Elsinore, Meet Your New Mayor: City Council Votes On Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem For 2026 At Recent Meeting
The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore are selected annually in December by a vote of the City Council.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — At the final City Council meeting of the year on Tuesday, the Lake Elsinore City Council selected its new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore for the coming year.
The council voted in Robert “Bob” Magee to serve as Mayor for 2026 and Timothy J. Sheridan to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. The selection of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore occurs annually in December through a vote by the City Council, according to a recent news release.
Magee represents District 5, which includes the Summerly community and the Downtown area.

He was first elected to the Lake Elsinore City Council in 2003 and has served seven previous terms as Mayor. Over his tenure, Magee has worked on initiatives related to public safety, transportation, lake and watershed issues, and the development of parks and recreation facilities. His regional experience includes past leadership roles with the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
“I look forward to a great year ahead. We’ve had many successful years behind us, and I look forward to continuing to work with the City Council to serve our community,” Magee said.

Sheridan represents District 3, which covers the Tuscany Hills and Canyon Hills areas. He has served on the City Council since his 2018 election. Sheridan also serves on the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) Board. As Mayor Pro Tem, he will carry out the Mayor’s responsibilities when needed.
The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem serve as the presiding and alternate officers of the City Council.
The positions do not include additional legislative authority but support meeting facilitation, ceremonial duties, and representation on various regional assignments.
Regular City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Lake Elsinore Cultural Center, 183 North Main Street, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530.
