Lake Elsinore Pedestrian Dies After Saturday Crash, DUI Suspected
Officials were informed that the driver dropped off the victim at a nearby hospital.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A Lake Elsinore pedestrian struck by a driver believed to be intoxicated has died, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday around Dexter Avenue and 11th Street, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Brad Foster.
"Deputies located the collision scene and were informed that the driver had transported the pedestrian to the hospital in their vehicle," Foster said.

Deputies made contact with the driver and the pedestrian at the hospital, he said. "The driver of the vehicle was cooperative with the investigation, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision."
The sheriff's office was notified that the pedestrian had died.

The person's name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
No arrests were made, Foster said. The case will be submitted to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office for further review. No other information was immediately available.
