Lake Elsinore Teen Dies From Hit-And-Run Injuries; Driver Sought
Jacob Becerra, 16, was riding a dirt bike July 11 when struck by a Toyota Tacoma pick-up, CHP said. Public's help requested to ID motorist.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The California Highway Patrol Thursday asked for public help in identifying and tracking down a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision just north of Lake Elsinore that fatally injured a 16-year-old boy.
Jacob Becerra of Lake Elsinore died Tuesday at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar from injuries he suffered nine days earlier.
According to the CHP, the victim was riding his dirt bike in the area of El Toro Road and Sanderson Pass about 6:30 p.m. July 11 when he was hit by a dark-colored mid 2000s Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Witnesses who called 911 said the vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on El Toro toward Interstate 15, according to the CHP.
CHP investigators have been trying to identity the vehicle and driver involved but have so far developed few leads. Anyone with information was urged to contact the CHP Riverside office at 951-637-8000.
