Large Housing Development Eyed For Wildomar's West Side
A developer wants to subdivide nearly 16 vacant acres and build out 95 single-family residential lots.

WILDOMAR, CA — A large residential development project is eyed for construction on Wildomar's west side, though it's in the early stages.
On June 30, 2024, the city's Planning Division received a formal application package from Irvine-based Melia Homes Inc. to subdivide nearly 16 vacant acres and build out 95 single-family residential lots, as well as park and open space areas. The area is near the northwest corner of Wesley and Palomar streets, west of Interstate 15, near the Murrieta Creek.
The proposed project requires environmental analysis, and Melia has agreed to move forward with the necessary review, according to city documents.

During this week's Wildomar City Council meeting, it's expected that the city manager will be given the go-ahead to execute a consultant services agreement for the environmental documentation preparation.
The total cost to prepare the documents is estimated at $55,228, which Melia agreed to pay, according to the city. The time to prepare and process the environmental analysis is estimated at approximately four to six months.
