Mail Theft In Lake Elsinore: Person Of Interest Sought In Riverside County

Mail theft suspects are under the microscope this week, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Lake Mathews investigators say.

LAKE MATHEWS, CA — One person was placed under arrest, and another is being sought in connection with mail theft in the Lake Mathews area, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department shared.

On September 11, 2025, at 3 a.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station responded to the 13000 block of Carista Boulevard in the unincorporated area of Riverside, known as Lake Hills, regarding a report of mail theft, Sgt. Matthew Bolle said. "Upon arrival, deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects."

The Lake Mathews Station Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation and identified Jessica Osburn, a 38-year-old resident of Riverside, as a suspect in the theft. A second person, identified as 41-year-old Larin Romo, also of Riverside, was being sought in connection with the crime.

On September 12, 2025, Osburn was taken into custody without incident at her residence in the 2000 block of Fairmount Boulevard, Riverside. She was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility and was released on $10,000 bond.

"During a search of the location, evidence of mail theft was discovered, including evidence of additional mail thefts from the cities of Lake Mathews, Ontario, Riverside, and Lake Elsinore," Bolle said.

Deputies are working to identify additional suspects involved in this case and have identified Larin Romo, a 41-year-old Riverside resident, as a person of interest. The Riverside Sheriff’s Lake Mathews Station requests that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Romo contact Deputy Casanova by calling (951) 272–5600 or the Riverside Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776–1099.

Romo has not yet been placed under arrest as of Friday morning. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.
