Morning Crashes On I-215, SR-60 Cause Residual Slowing

Northbound I-15 was slow through Lake Elsinore; a multi-car crash on State Route 60 caused a slowdown from Moreno Valley through Riverside.

INLAND EMPIRE, CA — The northbound I-15 through Lake Elsinore was slow Thursday morning from Alberhill to Temescal Canyon Road, and a multi-vehicle collision on State Route 60 blocked commuter traffic Thursday, causing residual traffic to the Interstate 215 in Moreno Valley, officials say.

Shortly after 8:15 a.m., at least four vehicles were involved in a collision on the westbound 60 just west of Main Street, California Highway Patrol reported.

Riverside Fire Department responded ot the scene of the crash where a black BMW was blocking the HOV lane. A white Chrysler 300 and a green Honda Accord collided with a BMW, according to dispatch operators.

Tow trucks were called to clear the scene, and it was not immediately clear how many people were injured in that incident. By 9:30 a.m., traffic was still slow through the area.

Meanwhile, north of Lake Elsinore, traffic remained slow as of 9:45 a.m. as drivers negotiated the I-15 northbound through Temescal Valley.

The I-15 northbound, just north of Lake Street, would be under "a moving closure until 3 p.m.," the CHP reported. No other information was immediately available.
