Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Jurupa Valley
The motorist immediately stopped and called 911, the sheriff's department reported.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday while walking across a Jurupa Valley street.
The fatality occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on Rutile Street, less than a block south of 50th Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Sgt. Rafael Lopez said that the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was on the narrow two-lane residential corridor where no marked pedestrian crossings exist when he was hit by a car traveling at an unconfirmed speed.

Lopez said the motorist immediately stopped and called 911.
Paramedics reached the location minutes later and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. It was unclear whether he resided in the neighborhood or was passing through.

Deputies questioned the driver but did not arrest him.
Rutile was shut down between 50th and Jurupa Road for several hours while a preliminary investigation was completed.
An autopsy was pending on the victim.
