PERRIS, CA — A brush fire that erupted Tuesday on the west end of Perris charred between five and 10 acres before being stopped.

The non-injury blaze was reported shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Cherokee Road and Tepee Lane, north of Highway 74 and west of Interstate 215, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving across open space at a moderate rate in the direction of a single residence, the agency said.
