RivCo Organized Retail Theft Crew Arrested: Sheriff

Four men and one teenager were arrested on suspicion of grand theft at two businesses.

PERRIS, CA — Four people and a teenager were arrested on Wednesday in Riverside County on suspicion of organized grand theft at two businesses, authorities said.

On Wednesday, a special enforcement team from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, along with several other agencies, served search warrants at four different addresses, where detectives recovered evidence of thefts reported in Perris and Corona.

Police also found an unregistered firearm, brass knuckles and illegal fireworks, according to the sheriff's office.

The first report of organized theft came on July 11, when deputies responded at 11:10 a.m. to a business in the 2500 block of North Perris Boulevard, near Orange Avenue in Perris.

Further investigation revealed that the five suspects were also involved in another grand theft just one day before at a business in Corona, the department said.

The following suspects were arrested during the service of the search warrants:

  • Akon Perry, a 20-year-old resident of Fontana, for organized retail theft and grand theft
  • Deion Love, an 18-year-old resident of Rialto, for organized retail theft and grand theft
  • 16-year-old resident of Rialto, for organized retail theft and grand theft
  • Donald Brown, a 34-year-old resident of Rialto, for possession of brass knuckles and possession of illegal fireworks
  • Robert Love, a 45-year-old resident of Rialto, for felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition
