Southbound 71 Freeway Nightly Closures This Week: What To Know
Drivers heading to the 91 and 71 will see delays this week due to ongoing RTC Interchange improvement projects.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Southbound 71 drivers will see more full closures this week due to ongoing improvements and rebuilding of the 71/91 interchange, the Riverside County Transportation Commission said.
The full closure of southbound 71 will run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on Friday from midnight to 5 a.m.
The closure will run along southbound 71 from Butterfield Ranch Rd/Euclid Ave to the 91 and southbound 71 to eastbound/westbound 91 connectors.

"Motorists traveling to destinations along the 71, such as Chino Chino Hills and Pomona, are encouraged to use alternate routes and avoid the 71/91 interchange," they said.
The Riverside County Transportation Commission’s 71/91 Interchange Project will require weeknight full closures (Monday – Friday) of southbound 71 at Butterfield Ranch Rd/Euclid Ave in Chino and Chino Hills began on September 16 and was slated to continue through mid-October.

"The closure will allow crews to safely begin building a new portion of support structures for the new eastbound 91 to northbound 71 connector. Additional nighttime lane reductions along eastbound and westbound 91 may also occur during these nightly closures," they said.
