Spot Fires Stopped At Mead Valley Former Christmas Tree Lot
The fires scorched less than a half-acre before crews got them under control.
MEAD VALLEY, CA — Spot fires that erupted Wednesday in a former Christmas tree sales lot at a Mead Valley intersection scorched less than a half-acre before crews got them under control.
The non-injury blazes were reported at 12:02 p.m. at Cajalco and Wood roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said seven engine crews were sent to the location and encountered one fire burning at the edge of the lot and the other burning within it, amid light Santa Ana winds.

Firefighters quickly established hose lays, fully containing the blazes by 12:35 p.m., officials said.
An investigation was underway to determine what triggered the fires.
