RIVERSIDE, CA — Multiple trouble spots appeared on the California roadways through Riverside County on Monday, the largest on the 91 eastbound offramp to the I-215/60, according to California Highway Patrol.

That agency launched a traffic break on the Eastbound 91 freeway and closed the I-215/CA-60 offramp on Monday morning until about 3:30 p.m.

The closure has caused a traffic backup on that portion of the busy Riverside freeway, according to live traffic feeds.

In Jurupa Valley, CHP and Caltrans noted an emergency closure from the eastbound SR-60 to the northbound I-15 connector in Jurupa Valley. At 11:30 a.m., CHP and Caltrans alerted drivers in the area that all lanes were blocked for emergency maintenance.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., on I-15 southbound just north of the Murrieta Hot Springs exit, a large swath of tire tread was left in the roadway, CHP dispatch operators reported.

That tread, laid out in the #2 lanes, posed a danger to drivers in the area, prompting cleanup crews to be alerted.

More holiday drivers are adding to traffic across Southern California roadways. CHP asked drivers to use caution while driving.
