Wildomar Area Kids Get 200 Pairs Of Shoes At Nonprofit Event: Report
Ahead of the new school year, children recieved free atheletic shoes thanks to this Nashville-based program.
WILDOMAR, CA — Lake Elsinore and Wildomar area children received some 200 pairs of new athletic shoes at a giveaway event this week, held by nonprofit Soles4Souls.
The nonprofit, based in Nashville, Tennessee, brought its 4EveryKid initiative to Southwest Riverside County. The program provides brand-new shoes to homeless kids and other children in need.
"Without good shoes, they feel embarrassed, discouraged and left out, limiting their opportunities today and tomorrow," the nonprofit states on its website.

On Tuesday, The Press-Enterprise reports that the program came to the Jean Hayman Training Center in Wildomar on Tuesday. During the event, volunteers helped children in need try on sneakers.
The event also featured haircuts for kids and was a collaboration between the Lake Elsinore Unified School District and the Riverside County Office of Education.

The nonprofit holds a drop off in Menifee each first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon at Faith Lutheran Church, 28200 Portsmouth Dr. For more information, call 951-679-1518. More information here.
