Bomb Threat Reported At South Orange County Medical Building

Officers responded to an early morning bomb threat. Here's what happened.

LAKE FOREST, CA — Deputies responded to a bomb threat early Friday at a Lake Forest medical building, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

Around 7 a.m., Lake Forest Deputies arrived at the medical building near Lake Forest Drive and Rockfield Boulevard.

"Officers arrived with the Hazardous Devices Squad," Sgt. Gerard McCann told Patch.

The building was evacuated, and based on the information provided to the deputies, they identified the suspect and were able to make contact, McCann said.

As deputies cleared the area, the suspect was contacted, detained, and eventually taken into custody. Neither the suspect's name nor the pending charges against him were immediately released.

"Though there was a perceived threat, the building was never actually threatened," McCann said. The area was declared safe after a thorough sweep.
