Lake Forest High School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Lake Forest High School is August 23. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Lake Forest High School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 9/4: Labor Day (No school for students or staff)

October

• 10/9: Columbus Day (No school for students or staff)

November

• 11/2: Parent Conference Day (No school for students)
• 11/3: No School for students or staff
• 11/22-24: Thanksgiving Break (No school for students or staff)

December

• 12/18-1/2: Winter Break (No school for students or staff)

January

• 1/3: Return to school
• 1/15: Martin Luther King Day (No School for Students or Staff)
• 1/16-17-18: First Semester Finals
• 1/19: Teacher Work Day (No School for Students)

February

• 2/16: Institute Day (No school for students)
• 2/19: Presidents’ Day (No school for students and staff)

March

• 3/5: No School for Students or Staff* (Pending not using a snow day through February 23rd)
• 3/26-30: Spring Break (No school for students and staff)

April

• 4/2: No School for Students or Staff ** (Pending not using a snow day through March 16th )
• 4/3: Return to School

May

• 5/28: Memorial Day (No School for students and staff)

June

• 6/5-7: Finals
• 6/7: Last day for students (If we do not use any emergency days)
• 6/8: Faculty Workday (If we do not use any emergency days)
• 6/14: Last day for students (If we need to use five emergency days)
• 6/18: Faculty Workday (If we need to use five emergency days)
