The Orange County Sheriff's Department said the girl did not report the molestation until a month ago.
SANTA ANA, CA — A registered sex offender was charged Tuesday in connection to the 2016 molestation of a girl in Lake Forest, authorities announced Thursday.
Alehandro Deleon Deleon, 44, was charged with five counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

According to court records, Deleon was released from jail seven years ago in 2015 after pleading guilty to the 2012 molestation of a girl in Anaheim. He served three years for the offense.
Sheriff's officials said Deleon would go on to assault a different girl several times throughout 2016. Deleon knew the girl, but the two were unrelated, officials said.
