Ever After (1998)

Friday, Dec. 2- Starz- 1:35

Inspired by the fairytale of Cinderella, Ever After removes the supernatural elements of its source material and instead explores an angle of post-feminism, historical fiction set in Renaissance-era France. The film opens with a 19th-century Grande Dame, who summons the Brothers Grimm to her palace, where the brothers discuss their interpretation of the Cinderella legend. The Grande Dame shows the pair a glass slipper before beginning her story of Danielle de Barbarac, the true Cinderella.
