And another sucessful father/son sports banquet, this week in Spring Valley in 1956.

Two local teachers were honored with lifetime memberships to their various PTAs, this week in Spring Valley in 1956.

The Spring Valley PTA honored Mrs. Genevieve Prill, a 1st grade teacher with the membership. Additionally, Mrs. Zelma Urich, a 6th grade teacher, was similarly honored by the Casa de Oro PTA.

The annual Father/Son Sports Banquet was held at Spring Valley Jr. High. In attendance were longtime radio broadcaster Al Schass and San Diego Padres manager Bob Elliott. The Padres, at that time, had not yet joined the major leagues, and were a member of the Pacific Coast League. Music for the banquet was provided by the Solidaires Quartet.
